Home Cafe

2:49 PM

I'm starting a new blog category on this website called Food Adventures! For the longest time, I've been wanting to write about the places that I go to eat. Since I've secretly vowed to take my blog to the next level in 2017, I thought this would be the perfect time to start a new category!

First off, let me just say that I am in no way a food reviewer. (Let's be real, nobody really likes reading food review blogs. You might as well just look up Yelp reviews to save you time.) I just want to share my experiences with you and take some cool looking photos of food while I'm at it! So let's get started!

This time around, Christie and I went to visit Home Cafe!

Home Cafe is located at: 1222 Noriega St, San Francisco, CA 94122

The weather in the Bay Area has been pretty stormy and cold. In my opinion, it was the perfect weather to go visit local coffeeshops. Christie had mentioned finding a small coffeeshop that served blogger aesthetic looking drinks. As we are both trying to step up our blogging game, we decided to go adventuring for the blog. (Yes, we do it for the blog posts!)

Our visit to Home Cafe began at 8:00AM on a rainy Sunday. I snapped the photo above in a split second, right before it began pouring outside.

Hazelnut Latte

I ordered a Hazelnut Latte, my second go to drink besides Caramel Macchiatos. As a coffee drinker, this latte did not disappoint. Everything about it was perfect. Usually, you can tell a good latte by the espresso shot. If the shot is exceedingly bitter, the espresso was not properly extracted. (Even I must admit, I do not pull perfect espresso shots.) However, this latte was not bitter. In fact, it stayed rather pleasant even after several minutes.

Needless to say, it was delicious! It is also hard not to get excited when there is latte art involved. As someone who cannot do latte art (maybe one day I'll learn), it's always exciting to watch baristas create latte art.

If you aren't much of a coffee drinker, there are other drinks that are served at Home Cafe. Since Christie does not drink coffee, she ordered a Nutella hot chocolate! It also comes with its own type of "latte" art as well.

Tomato, Pesto, & Cheese Toast (ft. Fried Egg)

There is an assortment of toasts you can order at Home Cafe. The tomato, pesto, & cheese toast is vegetarian friendly and quite delicious! For a few extra cents, you can order your toast with a fried egg on top! (The egg is seasoned with a little bit of Cayenne pepper.)

Overall, the environment at Home Cafe feels quite cozy. It really does live up to its name. You will definitely feel at home when you come for a visit. I most definitely will be coming back sometime in the future!
